Helene began dancing at the tender age of 7.   At this time she realized that this would be her life long love and preferred career.   She began as an assistant teacher in 1977, as well as choreographing for local schools and theater groups.   Helene's love for dance is truly personified through her dance instruction.   In 1982, she became certified to teach by test at  Dance Masters of America and pursued her life long dream by opening Helene Joy School of Dance in Beverly, Massachusetts.   Soon after she decided to expand and opened another studio in Middleton, Massachusetts.   After years of operating both studios, she realized that she wanted to be more connected to her students and closer to her family.   The Beverly facility was closed and her focused was directed to one studio again.   She was Master of Ceremonies for the Heritage Days Pageant in Salem, Massachusetts for 4 years.   She has been on the judging staff for multiple competitions, such as KAR Productions, American Miss and Miss Hemisphere.   Helene started a Dance Company over 35 years ago for the more serious dancer.   She decided that giving students the chance to perform and compete in dance competitions would help her students grow as performers.  In 2009  she created a unique dance experience  for children with high funtioning autism and other special needs,  "Adaptive Dance".
